Project background
Works are for Enfield Borough Council – Highway Services Team.
The works are part of the client’s ongoing commitment to public safety as well as maintaining the structural integrity of Bourne Hill/ Hertford Loop Line (LBE 914) Footbridge, which crosses Network Rail Infrastructure (Track Lines).
Project description
Damjul Ltd undertook Structures Inspections and Delamination Surveys of the superstructure mainly concentrating efforts on the dilapidated masonry parapets and footway surfacing of Bourne Hill/ Hertford Loop Line (LBE 914) Structure.
The superstructure mainly comprising the masonry Parapets was inspected from within touching distance in accordance with the HA Departmental Standard BD 63/17 and the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning, and Transport: or ADEPT [formerly the County Surveyors Society (CSS)] Inspection Process as described in “The Inspection Manual for Highway Structures”.
The purpose of the dilapidation survey/ repair option review is to determine the nature and extent of defects that might impact the durability, global structural integrity, and serviceability of the parapets.
The objectives of these works are to consider the delivery of value-for-money medium to long term improvements to the parapets to maintain the lifespan of the overall structure.
